PRESENTATION
The notion of ‘imaginary’ originally emerged from social and psychological studies, and the theory of the imaginaries of translation can be considered as an extension of existing theories on ‘the linguistic imaginary’. This notion is thus particularly useful to model and understand the translator’s subjectivities (the imaginaries of translators) and the various conceptions and representations of translation (the imaginaries of translating) involved in the circulation of texts.
